The Audio-Visual Forum: A Platform for Innovation

During the annual Film Music Festival in Krakow, we host the Audio-Visual Forum. This event features a series of panels and workshops tailored for industry professionals from around the globe. We delve into essential topics such as music production, technology, innovation, composition, and copyright. These subjects are particularly relevant for music creators and performers in today's rapidly evolving landscape.

A Focus on Collaboration

One of this year’s panels centred on collaboration in music. I had the immense privilege of joining Hugh Brunt for a conversation and deep dive into projects with the London Contemporary Orchestra. We discussed how they blend electronic music with orchestral sound. Their incredibly advanced and creative playing techniques showcase the power of collaboration.

The London Contemporary Orchestra continues to shape the sound of some of the most compelling projects in recent years. Their innovative approach has garnered attention and respect within the industry.

The ECHO Project: A Case Study

Hugh and the LCO musicians played a crucial role in the success of the ECHO Project. We introduced ECHO to the composers and analysed Volker Bertelmann's scores from an immersive thinking perspective. This analysis encouraged the involvement of the spatial aspect in the compositional process.

The ECHO Project exemplifies how collaboration can lead to groundbreaking results. By merging different musical styles and techniques, the project has created a unique listening experience.
